June TSG Monthly Challenge!

It's that time again! Time for another great There She Goes stamp release :) From now on TSG will be releasing stamps on the last Sunday of the month.

We are going to start this month's festivities with the monthly TSG Release Challenge. This month's challenge is a fabulous color challenge that was inspired by some of Joanne's gorgeous cards.

Black
White (Very Vanilla ok)
One other color (Monochomatic schemes ok)
NO other color aloud!

If you would like to play along in this challenge, post a link to your project in the Mr. Linky at the end of this post. You do NOT need to have to use TSG stamps nor do you need a blog. You can add the link to your project from an online craft gallery as well! I will choose a random winner from those that play along and that lucky person will get their choice of one of the new stamp sets! This challenge is open from Friday-Sunday and I will announce the winner on my blog on Monday.

So there is this boy. He's kinda crazy.... but I love him :)
This Stampbook Page was inspired by this card of Joann's. I love the striking look of the black/white/and red together and the circle is just the right touch. I thought that this crazy picture of Matt and I would go perfect with the quote I used. What do you think? ;) Do you recognise these stamps? No? That's because it's a sneak peek of one of the new sets that will be released on Sunday!

Last but certainly not least, I am delighted to share with you guys this month's Guest Trendsetter- Krystie Hersch (krystie lee on SCS)! She has such a gorgeous clean and simple style and I know that we are just going to love what she comes up with using TSG stamps. Stop by her blog and welcome her to the team :)

Make sure you stop by tomorrow to check out the June release Blog Hop Challenge to get a peek at the new sets that will be released!

Oh happy day...

We have been spending so much time outside due to the beautiful weather we are having. I love it! I love the new set Happy Day because it feels so "Springy" to me (even though my tree looks a little "Fallish" on this card lol!).
I just got a new set of Prismacolor Pencils and I knew that this image would be perfect for a test run. It was so much fun to color! When I was done coloring in the entire image, I blended the pencils using OMS, added some more shading and went over it with OMS once more.

If you haven't heard yet, There She Goes will now be releasing new stamp sets at a new date! It will now be on the last Sunday of the month instead of on the first of every month. The TSG Monthly Newsletter will be going out this afternoon so make sure you sign up to get all of the details about the upcoming release! You can sign up for the newsletter by entering your email address in the Newsletter box located on the left hand side of the home page on the TSG website.

It feels like forever

Since I've done an SCS sketch challenge! I was happy to see it posted last night at a decent time so that I could play along :) Of course now that I can do a sketch challenge, it just happens to be a pretty complicated one lol! When ever that happens, I usually try to go matchy-matchy to downplay the number of layers used. Would you believe that this card has close to 15 layers on it?! I used the new set Happy Day and cut out part of the tree to make a nest for the bird. The sentiment goes perfect with the DP I used (thanks again Kelli for all of the great DP you gave me!). It's hard to tell from the picture but I added some sparkle to the nest. I couldn't help it, my youngest inspired me by coming down from her room (an hour and a half after we put her to bed!) covered head to toe in super fine purple glitter. Oh my... I calmly asked her where she got the glitter from and I followed her upstairs. Apparently, she found a couple containers of fine glitter in an old make up bag that was in the back of one of the bathroom drawers. Leave it to the 3 year old to find that lol! I didn't have it in my heart to reprimand her like that- she was so cute and sparkly ;)

Sorry I don't have a Stampbook Page for you guys today, it totally slipped my mind this week. If I can get one done in the next couple of days, I will post it for you!

I hope you guys have a wonderful Wednesday!

TSG Color Challenge

Have I mentioned that I never want to leave my craft room? lol! Now that I have even more time to get some stampin time in :)

I made this card for last Friday's TSG Color Challenge. But after I was finished with it, I realised that I used Regal Rose instead of Rose Red lol! So I will be making another one later today to qualify for the real color challenge.
I used the colors Regal Rose, Apricot Appeal and Chocolate chip. The images are from the set Nature of Friendship and sentiment is from Friendship Flowers. I added some pearls to a few of the flowers and Liquid Pearls to the rest.

Off to stamp :)

6x6 swap card and WIR winner

Thank you so much for all of the happy birthday wishes! I had an amazing day yesterday :) I woke up to a brand new flat panel tv installed in my stamp room courtesy of my wonderful husband. I now officially have no reason to leave my craft room lol! Well.... I guess I will have a to leave to at least feed the family and clean a little bit right? :-p Not only that but he also put together a surprise party for me! It was a gorgeous day filled with lots of fun with great friends (some who I haven't seen in quite awhile). After we had a bbq at our house, we all walked down to the river for a little bit of fishing and to enjoy a bonfire. It was definitely a great birthday and I feel so lucky to have such a thoughtful husband.

I wanted to share a 6x6 recipe card that I made for a cocktail/appetizer swap that Kelli hosted. I chose to use a recipe my friend Dani and I came up with a couple of years ago at a New Year's Party that we were at. I only drink about once a year and with this drink, that's all I need lol!

And here is this week's WIR winner!

WIR & It's my birthday already?!

I so can not believe that my birthday is already here! When did that happen?? I was convinced that I would stay 25 forever and here comes 26 sneaking in today. Funny how that happens huh? It's going to be a nice relaxing day. We are going to have some friends over for a bbq and then I told Matt that the only thing that I want for my birthday is some fried ice cream from my favorite Mexican restaurant. That's not too much to ask right? ;)

I know I say this every Sunday but this week's cards are gorgeous! These ladies amaze me every week and this week is no exception!

What is Week In Review (WIR)?- WIR is where I showcase cards that were made by the Trendsetters and myself throughout the week. Not only do you get to see gorgeous samples made using There She Goes clear stamps, but you also have the chance to WIN one of the cards! Just leave a comment on this post and tomorrow (Monday) I will pick a winner using a random number generator. That person will then get to pick their favorite card and the DT member that made it will send it to the them!

The weekend is here!

I don't know about you guys but I am sooo happy that the long weekend is finally here! The weather is supposed to be nice and we have lots of fun stuff planned :)

But before we go on our fishing expedition for today, I wanted to share this card with you guys that I made for one of my stampin friends. This is one of the cards I made when I was on my butterfly kick in case you couldn't tell ;)
The card is pretty self explanatory. I used a cuttlebug embossing folder for the light purple layer. I stamped the butterflies first on the white layer and colored with copic markers and then stamped the butterflies again on a separate piece of paper, colored with copics, cut out and glued just the bodies down on top of the other butterflies. I gently bent the wings back to give the illusion that that they were flying.

I hope you guys have a wonderful weekend!

Dollar Find Friday (Jessica-girl picture frame)

Happy Friday everyone! I am looking forward to this weekend so much. We are expecting beautiful weather and I'm sure we will have lots of outdoor adventures :)

First on the list for today- this week's TSG challenge!

Because Jodi has made me read these darn books that I just can't seem to put down, I had her come up with this week's challenge so I could sneak in a few more pages ;) She chose to do a color challenge using these colors-

Rose Red
Apricot Appeal
Chocolate Chip

If you would like to play along here are some simple tips-

1. Attach a photo of your card/project in your reply to the challenge thread as well as a link to your project in either your blog or gallery.

2. If uploading your card to a gallery, please use the keyword tsg07

3. There is NO time limit to this challenge and you are welcome to participate at any time and add your card/project to the thread!

4. You do not have to use TSG stamps to participate in the challenges but if you have some, we would love to see them used!
Tonight is also the Friday Night Chat! I have started the thread here and you are free to stop in at any time during the day. The actual chat times are from 7-9 both Eastern and Pacific time so if you would like to stop by and chat with us we would love it! Anyone is welcome :)

********************************
Ok, now on to the Dollar Find Friday project!

I have had these picture frames for quite a while now and they have been begging to be altered. Today I'm going to show you how I altered Chloe's frame.

Supplies-
Frame ($1 at Michaels)
Acrylic Paint
White Tissue Paper
Stamps (I used the smallest flowers from the set Flowers Of Happiness)
Ink Pads
Modge Podge
Foam Brush
Aleen's Glue
Rhinestones
Stardust Gelly Roll Pen
Step 1- Take out the frame back and plastic picture protector and paint. The wood absorbs the paint pretty quickly but if you are impatient like me, you can always use your heat gun to speed up the process ;) Just be careful that the pain is not to thick or the heat may cause it to bubble.
Step 2- Trace the shape of your frame onto the tissue paper (with pencil) and stamp your images. I used Pretty In Pink and Regal Rose. Trim around the outside of your pencil line and you can go back and erase the lines if they are too noticeable.Step 3- Add a thin layer of Modge Podge on the front of the frame. Carefully lay your tissue paper on top and gently smooth out any wrinkles or bubbles. Now go back and make little slits along the excess tissue paper hanging over the edge. Add another thin layer of Modge Podge to the sides of the frame and gently smooth the tissue paper over the edge. Let dry. I didn't even try to use my heat gun for this. The thought of glue and burning tissue paper was enough to divert me. It didn't take long though because I used just a thin layer of the Modge Podge.
Step 4-I added some sparkle with my Stardust Gellyroll pen and then some rhinestones. I added my picture and put the frame back together. All done! How cute is this frame?? Now I need to make Kylie's and Kayla's frames ;)Well, I hope you guys enjoyed today's project!

Have a fabulous weekend everyone!!
