My best birthday and Blog Candy for you!

I have to start this post by saying that I have the best friends ever. Seriously! It is so amazing how stamping can bring so many people of all walks of life together. I have made so many great friends from all over the country (and world for that matter!) because of this 'hobby' and I am so thankful for each of  you!

As some of you might know, Monday was my birthday and the Trendsetters surprised me with an amazing blog hop full of gorgeous cards and projects and birthday wishes. I was completely taken surprised and so touched that they would do this for me. Well, what you don't know is that they also sent me EACH of those projects via my friend Kelli that lives just a few minutes away from me! I guess these sneaky ladies have been planning this for quite awhile and sent their cards and projects to Kelli in advance so that she could hand deliver them on my birthday. I'm sure you could imagine my shock as we (my family and I) were driving down our street (coming home from a wonderful birthday dinner) and I see Kelli standing on my front porch. As I was letting her in the house I noticed that there was a package in front of the door. I asked her what it was and she told me that it was from her and the Trendsetters. I couldn't believe it! It was a gorgeous anitique looking suitcase that was FULL of packages.

So we hightailed it into the craft room and I started opening all of my presents :) It is so awesome being able to see everyone's cards/projects in real life and I can tell you that they are even more amazing! To see all of the detail up close, you can tell how much time and love they put into creating them.

Holly actually decorated the antique suitcase that everything was given to me in and OMG, it is GORGEOUS! She did such a wonderful job on the entire thing! She made custom tags to decorate each side of the suitcase and they are so beautiful. But the really special thing about these tags is that she created each one to represent one of the Trendsetters (and Kelli too!) and the places they are from. Some were hand stamped, some printed from the computer, each absolutely beautiful. I can't even tell you how much I love this suitcase!

And as if that weren't enough, yesterday I received another package from my friend Melissa that was PACKED full of ribbon! Talk about box full of happiness lol!
Blog Candy-
Since I am so blessed to have such amazing friends, I want to pass on the giving to you! I am going to be sharing my beautiful ribbon with one lucky winner :) All you need to do to enter for the blog candy is to leave a comment on this post telling me what your favorite birthday present of all time was! I will be announcing the winner on Monday.

So THANK YOU to all of my friends that helped to make this birthday such a memorable one for me! I will never forget the love you put into this and will always cherish my beautiful birthday presents :)

TSG15- Sketch Challenge

It's time for another fun TSG Challenge! The challenges will now be posted on Mondays giving you almost a full week to play along for the weekly challenge give away of a $5 gift certificate to the TSG Store!

This week I have a fun sketch challenge for you to try. To qualify for the give away, make a card/layout using the sketch provided then come back to my blog and add your name and a link to your project on the Mr. Linky located at the bottom of this challenge post. You have until Midnight (Eastern Time) Sunday August 16th to add your name and project to the Mr. Linky. But feel free to play along in the challenge at any time! Please use the keyword TSG15 when uploading your card to an online craft gallery.
The challenge has also been posted HERE on the forum if you would like to add your card for everyone to see!

For my card I used the new set Spread Your Wings along with some of my favorite paper by My Mind's Eye. The images were stamped on scrap paper, colored with Prismacolor Pencils and blended with OMS. I then cut them out and raised with dimensionals. I created the clouds using a sponge and an acetate cloud template. The scallop boarder was created using a SU scallop boarder punch.
Inside of card (please excuse the blurriness, I thought that it was just my contacts acting up when I took the picture lol!)

***That calls for Blog Candy! I want to thank each and every one of you that take time out of your day to visit my blog and leave wonderful comments :) You guys keep me wanting to create something new every day and to challenge myself to try different things. Add your name to the Mr. Linky and the bottom of this post and I will randomly choose a winner on Monday. What is the candy you ask? How about your very own set of She's A Lady along with this card! ***

I love the stamp set She's A Lady but haven't used it in quite awhile. After I started piecing my card colors/layers together, I knew that this set would go perfect!

This card was made for the challenge on SCS today which was to use pleats on your project. I used kraft card stock folded up then stitched with a sewing machine for my pleats which worked perfectly as a sidewalk for my image.
The images were stamped on Very Vanilla cardstock and colored with Prismacolor pencils and blended with OMS. I cut them out and added them to the front panel with dimensionals. Instead of stamping the leash that comes with this set, I linked the lady and dog images with a piece quilting thread. You can see a better view here in the close up-
And the card is never complete without a matching card front-
Thanks for looking!

Dollar Find Friday (magnets) & Give Away!

My back isn't feeling any better, in fact I'm pretty sure it's worse. When I'm standing up "straight" I look like I'm leaning to the left lol. This has been happening a few times a year since I was 17. It's getting pretty old now... I'm only 25 for pete's sake!

Anyways, on to today's project. I got this idea from my wonderful SU demo last year. I "borrowed" one of the girls' flat magnets from the fridge for this. I'm horrible right? But you gotta do what you gotta do for crafts! ;)

Supplies-
Large flat marbles ($1 at Dollar Tree)
Flat magnet (strong enough to hold up the marble)
1 1/8 Circle punch
Designer paper

Step 1- Punch circle in designer paper

Step 2- I used a thin layer of Aileen's Tacky glue on the back of the marble to glue on the circle punch.

Step 3- Cut out a piece of magnet large enough to fit on the back of the marble.

Step 4- I used red Sticky tape to adhere the magnet to the back of the marble.

Finished product holding up a picture that Kylie (my 5 yr old) drew for her daddy yesterday all by herself.

These magnets are such a pretty way to decorate your fridge. Along with this project of course!

BONUS IDEAS-
*To give this card as a gift, just add a piece of magnet in between the layers of your card and stick the magnet to the front of your card!
*You can also stamp an image of your choice to make custom magnets.

**GIVE AWAY**

Leave a comment on this post and I will choose a winner tomorrow using a random number generator. That person will get the following items-
5 large flat marbles
5 pieces of magnet (with sticky tape attached)
11 circle punches
A thank you card from me for taking the time to check out my blog!
