Kylie's Kards

Hello everyone, I hope that you are having a 'tweet' Friday so far! ;) I made this card using this week's TSG challenge which is this fabulous sketch from Holly. I was a little intimidated by the sketch when I first saw it but I have been having so much fun with it! You can check out all of the challenge info as well as how you can win a TSG gift certificate simply by playing along right here on the TSG Blog

Stamp set used: Happy Day
Ink: Momento Tuxedo Black, Sahara Sand, Early Espresso
Paper: White, Black, DP by K&Co and Basic Grey
Accessories: Prisma Colored Pencils, OMS, Corner Rounder, Dimensionals, Sponge, Sewing Machine, Twine

 ***************
Yesterday when Kylie got home from school, she came into the craft room/office where I was doing computer work and offered to help package stamp sets for the upcoming release. Of course I jumped at the offer because every little bit of help is very much appreciated lol! She added sticker labels to header cards as well as put the stamp sets in their packaging. I was so impressed by her hard work that I told her that when she was finished, she could pick out her very own TSG stamp set :) She was so excited while she was looking through my stamp binder (where I keep printed images of all my TSG Stamp Sets) and finally decided on Spread Your Wings.

Of course she had to ink it up right away using supplies that my awesome friend Danielle sent her a few weeks ago. While she was creating her card she informed me that she would like to make a card every week for me to post on my blog on Friday's. How cute is she? So today is the start of Kylie's Kards. We'll see how long she is into this but I'll take it while I can lol!

Gobble! / In Stitches sneak peek

Welcome to our second day of sneak peeks! Today the Trendsetters are showing off two fun new mini sets that were illustrated by Torico. Did you make your way here from Iwona's blog? If so, great! If not, you may want to head over to the TSG blog to find out all of the details about this hop and how you can win these two mini sets.

Gobble is a 3x4 stamp set that includes a total of 13 of stamps and will sell for $7.

This first mini set is such a fun one to play with! It includes this adorable turkey as well a few different things that he can hold like a sign, fork and glass. There are also a bunch of different sentiments that can be stamped on the sign to add to the versatility.
*I started by creating a background on my Kraft card base by stamping the large and small forks from the set in Sahara Sand.
*I then stamped the turkey, masked the wing, and stamped the sign/sentiment onto white cardstock.
*Image was colored with Prisma colored pencils and blended with OMS, cut out and added to the card base with dimensionals.
*I kept the design of this card nice and simple so that the focus is on the cute little turkey.

In Stitches is a 2x6 stamp set that includes a total of 7 of stamps and will sell for $7.
This second mini set includes is already becoming a favorite of mine! One of my favorite things to do to embellish my cards is to add stitching with my sewing machine. Unfortunately I am unable to do this on my one layer cards because I don't like the 'unfinished' look of the stitches from the inside of the card. This set solves that problem! One of the stamps included in the set is a line of stitching that is perfect to fit across the length of this vertical card (4.25 in.). It can be stamped in any color and looks even more realistic when embossed like I did on this card.
*Card base is Early Espresso
*DP by Basic Grey is stamped with a fun pattern image also included in this set
*Added a white and Early Espresso mat, stamped the stitching across the top and bottom with white craft ink then embossed in white.
*Tag was die cut with an SU die, sentiment stamped in Early Espresso and added to the card with white twine.

Thanks for stopping by everyone! The next stop on this hop is the fabulous Jessie and I'm sure that you are gonna love what she has to share with you today.

Bountiful Blessings Sneak Peek

Hello everyone and welcome to day one of the TSG November Release sneak peeks! Today we are showing off a beautiful harvest themed set that was illustrated by Torico. Did you make your way here from Iwona's blog? If so, great! If not, you may want to head over to the TSG Blog to find out all of the details about this Blog Hop Challenge and how you can win the set being previewed today :)

Bountiful Blessings is a 4x8 stamp set that includes a total of 18 of stamps and will sell for $18.
I decided that instead of a card, I would make a bookmark instead. I used Very Vanilla cardstock as my main base, punched a hole in the top and used a border punch on the bottom, then sponged around the edges. I then did the same thing to slightly larger piece of black cardstock, adhered them together and added the ribbon to the the top. The images were stamped in Magento Tuxedo Black and colored with Prisma Color pencils and bleded with OMS.

Thanks for stopping by today and I hope you enjoy all of the beautiful things that the Trendsetters have to share with you! The next stop on this hop is my friend Jessie, enjoy :)

Angel Mail

I hope that you are all enjoying your week so far! Yesterday was Kylie's 3rd infusion at Children's Hospital (only 4 more left, yay!) and she did such a great job. I can be kind of hard to have to sit in the same place for 6 hours. Especially when you are an active 7 year old lol!

Before we received Kylie's diagnosis of Juvenile Dermatomyositis (say that five times fast!) Matt and I were prepared for the worst case scenario. I remember that week (the longest of my life) reading the sentiments of the mini set Angel Wings over and over thinking about how true these words were to me.

10-12-10
*Stamp set used: Angel Mail, Winning The Race
*Create card base out of white cardstock
*K&Co DP sponged and stitched before stamping the sentiment and adhering the ribbon diagonally
*Add Early Espresso matt to DP layer
*Stamp Angels wings onto DP, cut out and shade with marker
*Stamp ribbon on cardstock, color, add sparkle with Stardust Gelly Roll pen, cut out, layer and adhere to wings.
*Adhere wings/ribbon to ribbon

Hoo loves ya baby?

Hi everybody! I hope that you are all enjoying your weekend! So far mine has been a little bit crazy. Chloe's birthday party was on saturday and I think we had a total of 15 kids running around. It was nice because they had fun playing and the grown ups had fun chatting and eating yummy food :) Today we get to do it all over again because Matt's parents and my gramma are coming over. Then on Tuesday Kylie goes back to Children's hospital for another infusion and then finally we leave for vacation on Thursday! Wahoo!!!! I soooo could totally use a vacation right now ;)

After all of our visitors left after the party yesterday, I was able to finish up these five cards for a TSG swap on Splitcoast. As I was browsing the galleries looking for some inspiration, I came across this card made by jacynthe. As soon as I saw it, I couldn't wait to case it using the newly release set You're A Hoot illustrated by Torico!! This is such a fun and simple layout but I love how it came together so nicely.
10-10-10
*Stamp set used- You're A Hoot
*Create card base from Kraft cardstock
*Adhere strip of DP (K&Co. used here) to bottom of card base
*Adhere ribbon to top of DP and trim off excess
*Stamp sentiment on right side above ribbon
*Adhere button threaded with embroidery thread with a strip of ribbon to the ribbon strip
*Stamp owls onto card base
*Stamp owls on seperate piece of cardstock, color with prismacolor pencils blended with OMS, cut out and adhere to cardbase using dimensionals.

Happy Birthday Chloe!

It's so hard for me to believe that this little spit fire of mine is already 6 years old! She is such a sweet hearted child that is quick to stand up for what she believes in as well as speaking up for others. I am so proud of her in everything she does and it is such a joy to have her as part of our family :)

Happy Birthday Chlo-bo we all love you so very much!!
