New stamp sets now available!

Now available on the TSG Website:

I hope that you are all enjoying your weekends and taking some time to relax! I wanted to share this card that I made right when I got the set What's Up Buttercup? in my hot little hands :) I had thought of a new technique that I wanted to try out and I think it turned out rather pretty. For the flower, I stamped the image onto vanilla cardstock and embossed in white. I then used an embossing pen to color in the petals before lightly pouncing with shimmer chalks. I worked from petal to petal so that I didn't have to worry about the embossing pen drying before I had a chance to apply the chalk. I then added it to my simple card base with dimensionals. If you look at the sentiment, you will notice that it looks a little blurry. I stamped the sentiment first in a golden yellow before stamping again in black (off set a bit from the yellow so that it looks like a shadow). The simple elegance of the shimmery flower and CAS layout looks beautiful!

My best birthday and Blog Candy for you!

I have to start this post by saying that I have the best friends ever. Seriously! It is so amazing how stamping can bring so many people of all walks of life together. I have made so many great friends from all over the country (and world for that matter!) because of this 'hobby' and I am so thankful for each of  you!

As some of you might know, Monday was my birthday and the Trendsetters surprised me with an amazing blog hop full of gorgeous cards and projects and birthday wishes. I was completely taken surprised and so touched that they would do this for me. Well, what you don't know is that they also sent me EACH of those projects via my friend Kelli that lives just a few minutes away from me! I guess these sneaky ladies have been planning this for quite awhile and sent their cards and projects to Kelli in advance so that she could hand deliver them on my birthday. I'm sure you could imagine my shock as we (my family and I) were driving down our street (coming home from a wonderful birthday dinner) and I see Kelli standing on my front porch. As I was letting her in the house I noticed that there was a package in front of the door. I asked her what it was and she told me that it was from her and the Trendsetters. I couldn't believe it! It was a gorgeous anitique looking suitcase that was FULL of packages.

So we hightailed it into the craft room and I started opening all of my presents :) It is so awesome being able to see everyone's cards/projects in real life and I can tell you that they are even more amazing! To see all of the detail up close, you can tell how much time and love they put into creating them.

Holly actually decorated the antique suitcase that everything was given to me in and OMG, it is GORGEOUS! She did such a wonderful job on the entire thing! She made custom tags to decorate each side of the suitcase and they are so beautiful. But the really special thing about these tags is that she created each one to represent one of the Trendsetters (and Kelli too!) and the places they are from. Some were hand stamped, some printed from the computer, each absolutely beautiful. I can't even tell you how much I love this suitcase!

And as if that weren't enough, yesterday I received another package from my friend Melissa that was PACKED full of ribbon! Talk about box full of happiness lol!
Blog Candy-
Since I am so blessed to have such amazing friends, I want to pass on the giving to you! I am going to be sharing my beautiful ribbon with one lucky winner :) All you need to do to enter for the blog candy is to leave a comment on this post telling me what your favorite birthday present of all time was! I will be announcing the winner on Monday.

So THANK YOU to all of my friends that helped to make this birthday such a memorable one for me! I will never forget the love you put into this and will always cherish my beautiful birthday presents :)

Dadisms Sneak Peek

Today is the last day of the TSG Blog Hop Challenges where you have a chance to win the stamp set being previewed today by the Trendsetters! All you have to do is go to each of the participating Trendsetters blogs and comment on their Dadisms sneak peek post. After you have commented on everyone's blog, hop back over to the TSG Blog where you can enter your name into the Mister Linky located at the bottom of the post.
If you have made your way here from Holly's Blog, you are right on track! If not, you may want to head over to the TSG Blog to get all of the details about the Blog Hop Challenges and what you need to do to have a chance to win the stamp set that is being previewed today! :)
For those of you that loved Domestic Goddess, Dadisms is going to be right up your alley! This fun dad set includes all of the fun saying that we grew up with our father's telling us :)

Dadisms is a 6x8 stamp set that includes a total of 31 stamps and will sell for $24.

I'm sure that you guys were expecting an elaborately detailed card today like I have done for the last two previews but I decided to mix it up a bit and go a little clean and simple ;) The image was stamped in Versamark and embossed in black (this was before I discovered that I could watercolor by simply stamping my image in Versafine black!) then watercolored and cut out. For the background, I stamped the larger background stamp that includes a ton of different 'Dadisms'. I also stamped the dadisms background onto white cardstock and cut out the sentiment I wanted to use and added it to the Kraft card base using dimensionals. The watercolored image was also added to the card base using dimensionals.

And here is another fun Tips & Tricks sheet showing you how to mask dad's hand so that he can hold a variety of different objects that are included in this set!

Next on the hop is my girl Jessie and you are going to love the awesome card she made using this set!

By The Sea sneak peek!

Today is day two of the TSG Blog Hop Challenges where you have a chance to win the stamp set being previewed today by the Trendsetters! All you have to do is go to each of the participating Trendsetters blogs and comment on their By The Sea sneak peek post.

Today the Trendsetters are giving you a sneak peek of the new stamp set designed by the lovely Chris Dark! I absolutely love this stamp set and have been having so much fun playing with it! It is perfect for watercoloring which is my favorite coloring method (this week lol!).

By The Sea is a 6x8 stamp set that includes a total of 37 stamps and will sell for $24.

This first card was made by stamping the background images and watercoloring. Then I stamped the background again on an oval Nestability layer and also watercolored. The palm tree and boat were stamped on a separate piece of paper, watercolored and adhered to the nestie panel with dimensionals. Very fun and easy card to make that looks gorgeous!
The second card was made using the stair step fold and is a little more detailed. I created my card base then measured watercolor paper to fit each of the front facing panels. Before adhering those to the base, I stamped and watercolored them. I then stamped the accessory images onto a separate piece of paper, watercolored, cut out and added to the different base panels with dimensionals.

Allthough this card was a little more time consuming (mostly because of the cutting!) it was still very easy to put together :)

A Woman's Place Sneak Peek

Today is the first day of the TSG Blog Hop Challenges where you have a chance to win the stamp set being previewed today by the Trendsetters! All you have to do is go to each of the participating Trendsetters blogs and comment on their A Woman's Place sneak peek post.

Today we are showing off this fun kitchen set called A Woman's Place. You are going to love the sassy comments included in this set! Not only is it a great set to use on it's own but can also be combined with a variety of other stamp sets including the new set Domestic Goddess that was released just last month :)

A Woman’s Place is a 4x8 stamp set that includes a total of 34 stamps and will sell for $18.

I have two cards to share with you guys today. The first one is pretty simple but features a nice detailed image in the center. I started by stamping the stove in Versamark before embossing in black, watercolored, cut out and assembled on top of each other with dimensionals.  I also did this with a few of the accessory images that are included in this fun kitchen set!
This second card is a WHOLE lot more detailed but was well worth the time in my opinion because I love how it turned out! One of my favorite things about stamping is not necessarily always about making cards to send out to people but I really enjoy creating little works of art as well. This card definitely fits into that category lol!

First, here is a picture of the card front-
And the inside-
Now back to the card front-

What I did was cut open the 'doors' with a craft knife and drew shelves inside and also added bottles and glasses (both included in the set as well!). The little garbage can under the sink was hand drawn and masked before I stamped the tops of the bottles. All of the images were stamped in Versafine black and watercolored using SU inks and markers. There are a lot of different layers on this card and I just love how 3D it turned out :)

I have also created a TSG Tips & Tricks sheet showing you step by step how I created the kitchen scene!
I am also working on some Tips and Tricks sheets to show you exactly how I added the shelves/drawers to the different kitchen elements so keep an eye out for those!

The next stop on this great hop is my girl Jessie!

I love my sweet friends!

I would like to thank all of my wonderful, amazing Trendsetter friends for the surprise blog hop that they put on today for my birthday! I was taken completely by surprise and couldn't stop smiling.

I am so lucky to be able to call you ladies my friends and love all of you! Thank you for being such a fun team to work with, you make what I do oh so easy :)

And now on to this week's TSG challenge which is a bit of a combo challenge. This week, we are to include the following two things on our card- 1. Altered Corners 2. Altered edge somewhere on the card.

I thought of this challenge while I was creating this card for a TSG swap that my friend Michele was hosting on SCS. (This card was inspired by a few different cards made by my awesomely talented friend Julie) I used the set What's Up Buttercup and stamped the larger flower in three different colors. I added a few rhinestones placed in random places to give the card just a tad bit of detail and sparkle :) This is one of those cards that just make me happy to look at! I still can't believe that I made it lol!!

Poppy Impressions

Ok, I'm pretty sure that you guys are starting to get that I'm a tad bit obsessed with this method of stamping that I like to call 'making an impression' lol! I just love the look of the subtle background image with that little pop of color from the dimensional image. I have also been obsessed with kraft cardstock lately but that is a whole 'nother post ;)

The poppies (from the stamp set Poppies) were stamped in Sahara Sand ink onto Very Vanilla cardstock, sentiment stamped in Momento Tuxedo Black ink. Butterfly was embossed with black before I watercolored using various SU inks and markers. I then cut it out and adhered it to the front panel using dimensionals. This was a very simple card to make without looking simple :)

Are you free for coffee?

Happy Saturday everyone! Today I am working on tying up some loose ends as we head towards TSG's release week :) But first, I wanted to share this cute ATC that I made for the recent TSG swap that was going on over at SCS.

This ATC also qualifies for this week's TSG Challenge which is to make an impression! I'm sure you guys can tell how much I love using that cafe as a background stamp lol! As many times as I have used it, I don't think that I have colored it in even once. I just love the subtle detail that it add to projects :) All images used are from the new set Daily Grind. Love this set!!

I hope that you all have a great weekend! Thanks for stopping by :)

Back to the daily grind lady....

I have been such a horrible blogger lately! It isn't for the lack of stamping because I have actually made lots of cards lately but for some reason, I just haven't been able to upload, edit and post the pictures. Last night I went finally went through and organised and edited all of the card pics I had and there were almost 20 of them. Yikes! So now that I have lots of cards to blog about, I'd better get to it lol!

This week the TSG Challenge is to make an impression. Make sure you check out the blog to find out all of the details about this challenge and how you can win a TSG gift certificate simply by playing along!

I don't know about you guys, but I go through phases in my card making and stamping. Sometimes all I want to do is color, sometimes it's all about the silhouettes. One week I like to make detailed cards with lots of layers and others I do nothing but clean and simple. Right now my 'thing' is stamping a background impression, kraft cardstock and watercoloring. I love the way that the main images really stand out while the subtle background ties the entire card together :)

For this card I stamped the cafe and small street lamp from Daily Grind in the background. I then used a ruler and clear embossing pen to draw in the rest of the scene. The larger street lamp and all of the colored images are from the set She's A Lady (an oldie but goodie!). Isn't it awesome how well these two completely different sets work so well together?? The images were stamped in black Versafine ink and watercolored using reinkers and a regular old paint brush. They were then cut out and added to the card base using dimensionals of different thicknesses. How cute is that pink poodle??

When I said I do....

Hello everyone and happy hump day! It is so hard for me to believe that it is the middle of the week already. Where in the heck did the last couple of days go??? I may not have gotten as much 'work' (it feels wrong to call what I do work lol!) done as I would have liked but I did get a bunch of much needed cleaning done around the house and Matt has come home to a home cooked meal all week which makes him very happy ;) I've also been spending some time with my crazy girls.

Today I want to share a card with you that I made for this week's TSG54 Challenge which is to stamp a scene. I combined the two stamp sets Loads Of Fun and Domestic Goddess. I absolutely love how well these sets work together and every time I read this sentiment it makes me giggle. Especially when I have 2 full baskets of laundry waiting to be folded and Matt is asking if he has any clean pants lol!

The images were stamped in Momento Tuxedo Black and colored with SU markers. The layout I used was inspired by this gorgeous card from my dear friend Maki.

The fence was hand drawn. Make sure you stop by the TSG Blog today so that you can check out the TSG Tips & Tricks Tutorial that I created showing you step by step how to draw this fence!!

Card for my coffee buddy :)

Don't be shocked- but yes, I am posting two days in a row and NO it isn't a release week ;) I made this card about a week ago with the intentions of pairing the new Daily Grind set up with the Let's Get Together stamp set. Don't they look great together? One of the fun things about TSG stamps is that you will be pleasantly surprised at how many sets will work so well together :)

I had Matt drop this card and a light box that he had made off at my friend Kelli's house. He made me a new one a few months ago and I wanted Kelli to have the other one so that she finally has some good light to show off her great cards! Next, I need to go hang out at her house so that I can school her on how to use photo editing software ;) This girl makes some awesome cards that deserve to be shown in all of their glory!

Kelli and I live in the same town and met through SCS shortly after I started TSG. We would meet up at Starbucks every few weeks and spend an hour (or more lol!) just chatting about any and everything. I have been telling her about this idea I had for a Cafe set for SUCH a long time (she actually contributed the "congratulatte" sentiment!) and I knew I had to send it, along with a card I made with it, to her house. It's about time that I finally finished this set, right Kelli? lol!

It's a color challenge!

ETA: Tips & Tricks page now posted at the end of this post!
Happy Monday everyone, I hope that your week is starting off great so far! This week we have a fun color challenge brought to us by the Trendsetter of the week Pam. Make sure to check out the TSG Blog to find out how you can win a TSG gift certificate simply by playing along :)

I have had the plans for this card in my head since I was in the process of designing the Domestic Goddess stamp set. I'm sure those of you who are SAHM/houswives can totally relate to feeling like you are doing a million things at one time! This card is for all of us that have such an 'easy' job of staying at home all day eating bonbons and watching our soaps :-D

I stamped my scene onto kraft cardstock using Sahara Sand ink to give it that watermark look. The main image was stamped onto whisper white cardstock and colored in using Stampin' Up markers. This was the first time I've actually used these markers to color an image in and I was completely surprised at
smooth they turned out to be! There are hardly any streaks and they are waaaay cheaper than Copics lol!
