MTSC80

I hope you are all enjoying your week so far! I have a card to share with you today that was created for two challenges- Mercy's Tuesday Sketch Challenge and this week's TSG61 challenge to Go Green. The TSG Challenge is a two part challenge. Your card has to incorporate both the color green and flowers.

This is my last week as one of Mercy's Muses and I have had so much fun playing along with her and her crew this month!  Make sure you stop by Mercy's blog to get all the details on how you can play along with us each week in these fun challenges :)

About my card-
* Both the green and pattern DP are from a single sheet of double sided paper from Dream Street Papers called Birdie Bits Building A Home
* The flower image is from the mini set Dance and was stamped onto some new yummy paper from K&Co called Que Sara Sara
* I used a scallop corner rounder to give the card an interesting detail.
* The ribbon I used was a gift from my friend Michele and I believe that it is from May Arts. (Don't quote me on that though!)
* Scallop border punch from SU.

Behind Closed Doors

Whew, it's done! I've been working on putting this together since last night and thankfully, I am DONE! I made this card for this week's TSG challenge which is to create a Stair Step card. I knew what I wanted to create but I didn't have enough 'steps' so I created my own tutorial to create a four 'step' card instead of the traditional three step.

Not only that but I created .pdf files of the 3 part tutorial as well as printouts for the hardwood floor panels, doorway panel and the kitchen panel! Just print them out, trim, and adhere to your card panel! The hard work is done for you so all you have to do is have fun putting your scene together :)

I am working on uploading all of the files to the Behind Closed Doors album located on the TSG Gallery. I still need to add two more files but am having a heck of a time trying to make the files small enough to upload. Grrr....

I have some pictures posted of the tutorials below so you can check them out :)

TSG59: Worn, torn, and distressed

Happy Hump Day! This card was made for this week's TSG challenge which is brought to us by our Trendsetter of the week, Sandra. She has challenged us to make our cards look worn, torn and distressed. Usually when I think of this technique, I picture vintage/shabby cards in neutrals. I wanted to make a fun card that was both distressed but still bright.

* Card base is made out of Chocolate chip
* The blue/polka dot paper is double sided DP by American Crafts
* I embossed the blue with an embossing folder, distressed edges, sanded & stitched
* I cut a strip of the DP, polka dot face up, distressed edges, pleated the paper a bit and stitched up the center to hold in place.
* For the word layer I stamped the sentiment from the mini set Dance multiple times lightly, rounded corners, distressed edges & stitched.
* Flowers were stamped in Momento Tuxedo Black onto 140lb watercolor paper, watercolored with reinkers and paintbrushes, cut out, layered. Added an adhesive pearl to the center.
* The leaves were stamped in Kiwi Kiss onto white CS
* Sentiment (from Everyday Greetings mini set) was stamped onto SU DP in Chocolate Chip, punched out with SU punch and lightly sponged to help edges to stand out
* Made a 'tab' out of ribbon and adhered behind flowers.

MTSC78

Hello and welcome to another fabulous sketch from Mercy! Make sure you stop by her blog to get all the details on how you can play along with us each week in these fun challenges :)

I'm not entirely sure that I am pleased with the way this card turned out but I hope that you will like it lol! I used the stamp set Garden of Friends since it hasn't seen ink in awhile. The images were stamped with Momento Tuxedo black then colored with Prismacolors and blended with OMS. I sponged Creamy Caramel ink on both of my white panels as well as the DP I used.

Hats off to you!

I hope that you are all enjoying your weekend! After more than a week of rainy weather we finally have some sunshine, wahoo! We are going to be spending the day at the beach with some close friends for a birthday party and I can't think of any other place I would rather be :)

Here is the card that I made for the birthday boy. I wanted to keep it clean and simple with a pop of color.

* All images/sentiments are from the set Make A Wish
*Top layer was die cut with Top Note by SU!
*Images stamped with Momento Tuxedo Black.
*Hats were stamped onto DP and cut out
*I added white fun flock to the top and bottom of hats but it is kind of hard to see in the picture
*Hats were adhered to top note die layer with dimensionals
*I used a SU punch for the sentiment layer and cut a flag type notch in one end
*Pierced holes and tied button to sentiment with embroidery thread
*Threaded embroidery thread the button once more to tie around the top note dye layer
*Top note die layer adhered to kraft card base using dimensionals

Father's Day Sketch

Happy Hump day! I know that I'm getting this post up a little late but like most of my projects, this card took a little longer than I had anticipated to finish :) This card was made for this week's sketch challenge over at SCS. I am so happy with the way that it turned out that this is going to be the card that I give Matt for Father's Day.

All images are from the new set Dadisms, stamped in Momento Tuxedo Black, colored with colored pencils and blended with OMS. There is a lot of layering going on in this scene but that's just how I roll :-D Some of the images (the curtains, lamp shade, chair, shirt & pants) were stamped onto various designer papers, cut out and paper pieced onto the image. I then used colored pencils to shade. All of the panels were stitched with my sewing machine to add more texture.

Although making these types of cards tends to be labor intensive, they are my favorite to create! To me it feels like I'm actually creating a piece of art instead of just making a card :)

MTSC77

It's Tuesday which means that it is time again for another fabulous sketch brought to us by my girl Mercy! Make sure you stop by her blog for all of the details so you can play along with us this week!!

I had a lot of fun with this sketch and I love how my card came together. I used the new set By The Sea which is so much fun to watercolor!! I stamped the images onto watercolor paper using black Versafine ink and then watercolored using SU inks and a regular paint brush. I made the background layer lighter in color so that the front panels would stand out more.

Now hop on over to the other muse's blogs to see what they have created for your inspiration!
