TSG18- Custom Designer Paper

Happy Monday everyone! Talk about release party hang over, I am exhausted lol! This week's challenge on the TSG Blog is all about creating your own custom stamped designer paper. I was able to whip this card up in about 10 minutes and that is almost unheard of for me! Even with a CAS card lol!

I used the set Tastes Like Chicken which I know isn't everyone's cup of tea but there are a few of you out there that enjoy this set so this is for you ;) I cut the main panel about 1/4 of an inch smaller than the card base and then stamped my peppers image and attached it to the card base using dimensionals. I stamped the peppers on a scrap of white CS along with the sentiment, cut to size, added stitching to one edge and cut with decorative scissors. The images were colored with Prismacolor pencils and blended with OMS. The sentiment layer was attatched to the DP layer with dimensionals as well.

With Treemendous love & happiness

Last night after the release party I felt like stampin. Chatting with fellow stampers excited about new stamps for over 2 hours will do that to ya lol! So I headed on over to SCS (where else???) to see who the featured stamper for Sunday would be. The talented person featured this week is akronstamperdpk. What a fun gallery to draw inspiration from! I ended up choosing this card of hers to case. The things I changed were stamps, colors, and added stitching and dimensionals. I finally got a chance to ink up two of the new mini sets Treemendous and Flourish. Oh my, what fun I am going to have these babies!!
Supplies used:
Stamps- Treemendous, Flourish
Paper- Chocolate Chip, Very Vanilla, Mellow Moss
Ink- Chocolate Chip, Creamy Caramel and Mellow Moss
Accessories- Ribbon, dimensionals, brad, flower, sewing machine for stitching, Nestabilities

Side By Side Blog Hop Challenge

Welcome to the second day of the TSG sneak peeks! The set the Trendsetters are featuring today is called Side By Side. This set was actually inspired by some very old wall paper in my very old bedroom in my very old house lol!

Make sure you stop by the TSG Blog to find out all the details about this blog hop challenge and to find out how you can win this set for yourself!
Card 1-
I had so much fun casing Joanne's spotlight card the other day that I thought I would give it a try for this set. You know how when you learn something new, you want to do it all the time? Yeah, I'm there lol!
The next stop on the hop is Becky so head over there to see what kind of eye candy she has for you today :)

Happy hopping!

Fairy Good Day Blog Hop Challenge

Welcome to the first stop on the Fairy Good Day Blog Hop Challenge! If you would like to find out what this is all about (and how to win free stamps!), go check out the TSG Blog for all of the details and to enter your name in the Mr. Linky after commenting on all of the Trendsetter's blogs!

I didn't really grasp how much fun this set was going to be until I was finally inking it up for the first time. I needed to make a birthday card and frame for a 4 year old and once I started stamping I didn't want to stop lol! I was amazed by how many ways there are to put together the images in this set to get different scenes. Below are the projects that I made the first time I inked up the new set Fairy Good Day

Challenge combo

You know how every once in a while you make a card that you just absolutely love? Well that's how I'm feeling about today's card :) My mojo has been difficult to say the least so when this card came together so easily, I was elated! I have my friend Joanne to thank for that. She was this week's Featured Stamper on SCS and I have been determined to play along. She has such an amazing gallery that it took me quite some time to finally decide which one to case. I chose this card because I absolutely love the look of her spotlighting and I knew the set Bloom would work perfectly. This card was also made for today's color challenge which was to use Kraft, Chocolate Chip and Real Red.

Card Recipe: The card base measures 3x4 in. After I cut the very vanilla panel, I cut a strip of Kraft 1 in. wide and laid it diagonally across the vanilla layer and stamped the image. I then colored the image with prismacolor pencils, added a Chocolate Chip mat, adhered to the vanilla layer, trimmed excess and stitched with sewing machine. I cut a piece of ribbon, folded, trimmed and adhered it to the back of the main panel then added a red rhinestone on the front. The main panel was adhered to the card base using dimensionals.

Inspirational kitties

When I sat down to stamp last night, it was with the intention of working on my MIL's birthday present. But I started by going to check out the inspiration challenge on SCS first for a jumping off point and ended up making this card instead. Funny how that happens huh? lol!

My card was inspired by this adorable lamp found on the Pylones website.

I made this card with another oldie but goodie, Bug Me Anytime which is only $5! The little bugs in this set are so darn cute :) Images are colored with Prismacolor pencils and blended with OMS except for the middle bee. I paper pieced his body with the same DP used on the card. I'm not sure who makes the DP, I found it in my file cabinet filed under 'Yellow' if that's any help ;) This card also qualifies for this weeks TSG Challenge!!

Inside of card-
Yesterday was a little bit of sad day because our kittens just turned 8 weeks old which meant that it was time to find homes for them. We decided to take them to a great pet store near us that adopts animals out through the animal shelter. We took mama and all 5 babies in so that they could all get their first round of shots/worm/flea & ear mite medicine. Here is the last picture taken of the girls with all 5 babies. You can tell by the look on Chloe's face that she was concentrating pretty hard on keeping those kitties in her lap lol!

Even though I told Kylie that we were going to pick up mama and Ollie (short for Oliver) and Umma was going to come adopt two of the other kitties in the morning, she was still heartbroken that we had to leave them there and was worried about the other two that were going to be left behind and adopted out. The pet shop lady asked the girls if they would like to climb in and give the kitties some love before they had to say good bye. Poor Kylie was crying :(
Hopefully she will feel a little better once we get mama and Ollie back home :)

Friday Night Chat
Are you guys ready for another fun Friday Night Chat??? I know I sure am! I have a busy little bee lately and I sure could use a ladies night with some stampin friends :) Anybody is welcome to join us and we love meeting new people so come on over and say hello! The chat will be from 6-8 PM Pacific time on the TSG Forum but feel free to stop in at any time during the day. You need to be a registered member to view/post on the forum but it only takes a few minutes and you will be on your way :)
**************************************
I was feeling pretty random last night at 'stamp time' and I wasn't really feeling up to planning a card so I just stuck my hand in to where I store my TSG Stamps and pulled one out. I haven't used You're So Punny in way too long and I just love the cute little critters in this set! What's even better is that I could add some clouds behind the squirrel to count towards this weeks TSG Challenge, wahoo!
Inside-
CARD RECIPE: I created clouds with a sponge and acetate cloud template on a white nestie layer. Images are colored with Prismacolor pencils and blended with OMS. The grass was made by pleating green ribbon and stitching it together. I adhered it to the white nestie layer and trimmed around to remove the excess. The kraft layer was also cut out using Nesties then run through the Cuttlebug with an embossing folder. I wrapped some twine around, added the layers to the card base with dimensionals and added some buttons. The corners of the card were made using a scallop corner punch.
