Another ATC TSG swap!!

Sorry for not posting yesterday. You guys kept me busy packing orders and then it took me quite a while to finish my card. By then the girls wanted to go outside, my gramma came for a visit and, you know, life got in the way ;)

ATC Swap: I am so excited to announce that my friend Kelli (KelliJo on SCS) is hosting another fun ATC swap. Her last one was a huge hit and I believe that we had about 40 swaps filled! This one is guaranteed to be just as much fun :) This ATC swap is a 8 (+1 for the hostess for a total of 9) using the stamps from either the June or July releases. Spots will fill quickly so sign up while you can! Email me if you have any questions.

Today was one of those days for me. I saw the technique challenge on SCS today (Faux Burnt Edges) and knew that it would look gorgeous with the new Bloom set. So I got to work.
When I started this card, I intended on watercoloring the images but after trial and error I gave up on that idea lol! So I went to my handy blender pen and went that route instead. I stamped the images for the main panel on a separate piece of Very Vanilla cardstock, colored and cut out. For the main panel itself, I started by sponging on Sahara Sand, then Creamy Caramel, Close to Cocoa and Chocolate Chip on Very Vanilla cardstock. I stamped the sentiment in black and added the flowers by taping down only parts of it so I could make other parts come off of the paper. I then added the border punched layer with just a bit of adhesive and then used the sewing machine to stitch it together.

The card base is River Rock (thanks to Kelli, I don't have to worry about running out of this fabulous color any time soon!). I sponged it with River Rock, Sahara Sand and Creamy Caramel. The lighter panel was made by first stamping the flowers on scrap paper then on the Very Vanilla cardstock (to give it a lighter image). I colored the image the same way. I then sponged the same colors as the main panel but lighter. I assembled the back layers, added ribbon, stitching, main panel (with dimensionals) and button.

Bloom Blog Hop Challenge

Welcome to another blog hop challenge everyone! I hope that you enjoyed yesterdays hop. I was absolutely amazing by what the Trendsetters created!! I may be a little biased but I think these gals are the best stampers around ;)

Don't forget to check out the Release Challenge for another chance to win one of these great new stamp sets!

Today we are going to be showing off the soon to be released set Bloom. The Trendsetters fell in love with this set immediately and I have a hunch that you just may like it too ;) Bloom is a set of 18 stamps that include gorgeous flower images and beautiful sentiments to compliment them.

I am the first stop on the blog hop and next you will hop on over to Becky's blog to see what she has made. Continue through all of the Trendsetter's blogs, commenting as you go. When you have finished commenting on all of the Bloom sneak peek blogs, come back here and add your name to the Mr. Linky at the bottom of this post. I will randomly choose a winner and that person will receive their very own set of Bloom! You have until midnight Saturday to enter this challenge and I will announce the winner on my blog Sunday.

Here is the card that I made-My mojo has been on a little vacation lately and I was having major card-block. So I did my best to channel Jodi and Jessie and what do you know? My card has ribbon! And brads! Lots of brads! So thanks girls for helping me out, I appreciate it ;) I colored the image using colored pencils and OMS. I love the look of the nontraditional blue flowers. They are almost soothing aren't they? One of things that I love about the sentiments in this set is that they are fabulous for everyday cards. A while ago I was going through my card stash and noticed that I didn't have a whole lot of cards that weren't for a specific occasion. Not anymore!
*Release Party Chat 6-8 PM Pacific Time (9-11 Eastern Time) We will be having a release party chat on the There She Goes Forum. Stop by and chat with the Trendsetters and myself as we get ready for the release of two new stamp sets. It is so much fun getting to chat with you all and I look forward to getting to know you more! You need to be a registered member of the There She Goes forum to be able to access or post so make sure you do that first! It only takes a couple of minutes and then you will be ready to go. I will be giving a sneak peek of the new sets in their entirety to the party goers and you don't want to miss out! The new sets will be live at 8:00 PM Pacific Time. I look forward to chatting with you all!

Now go and enjoy the rest of the blog hop! Here is the complete list in case you get lost along the way ;)

Here are my cards-

When I first saw this image, I knew it would be perfect for a beautiful sunset. I created my sunset by coloring with colored pencils and blending with OMS. I used Nestablities for the card base and layers to go along with the TSG11.
Ever have one of these days??? ;) Each of these drinks is a single image. I stamped them on the white layer, colored with Copics and added Stardust Gelly Roll pen and Diamond Glaze to different parts of the image.

July Release TSG Challenge

TSG11
Time for another TSG Release Challenge! Not only will you get to challenge yourself by trying something different but the winner will get their choice of one of the new stamp sets :) This month the challenge is all about shapes. Card shapes that is! I want you to think outside the traditional card sizes of 4.5"x5.5" & 4.25"x4.25" and create a card using a different size and or shape. Some ways to achieve this is by using Nestabilities for the card base or checking out the resource section on SplitCoastStampers. When you have completed your TSG Shape Card, come back to my blog and add your name to the Mr. Linky at the bottom of this post. If uploading your card to SCS, please use the keyword TSG11 so we can all see your work! Challenge is open from Thursday to Sunday. Winner will be chosen on Sunday and announced on my blog.

Guest Trendsetter Announcement
I am so excited to announce that this month's Guest Trendsetter is Sandra MacLean (B-GIN-R on SCS). Not only can she color like no one's business, her layouts and use of embellishments are perfect every time. Her work is breathtaking and I know that you guys are going to love what you see her do with this month's new releases! Make sure you stop by herblog and give her a warm welcome as the newest Guest Trendsetter :)

Teapot Tuesday Anniversary

Oh my gosh!!! I had this scheduled to post at midnight last night and just NOW realised that it didn't post. Sorry everyone!

This is my story!

1. Today is Cindy's (mothermark on SCS) one year anniversary for doing her Teapot Tuesday challenges and in her honor, I am doing my post in true Cindy fashion.

2.Every Tuesday, she features one teapot out of her collection to be used as the inspiration for a card.

3.To celebrate this milestone, we are all having tea with the Queen! ----
--> Or queen of the trailer park in my instance ;)

4. This card (if you can call it that) was definitely a labor of love. I spent most of the day Monday putting it together and used a combination of 7 TSG Stamp sets! Once I got started, I got a little carried away ;) I believe that this type of card is called a stair step card but don't quote me on that. I love this style so much because, like yesterday's card, you can combine stamp sets to make a collage type scene. I love the dimension of 3D cards and the recipient will know that you spent a lot of time and love on it.

5. Here is a view of the side. Yes I used dimensionals. Lots of dimensionals.

6. Make sure you stop by Cindy's blog to join us for our tea party with the queen. Not only will you get a giggle or two, you will also have the chance to win your very own set of Tea For Two and Tea For Two Special Blend!!

See you tomorrow for Stampbook Wednesday!

WIR winner and a Father's Day card

Happy Monday everyone! I have seen a so many of these beautiful tri shutter cards in the SCS gallery and have been wanting to make one for quite awhile now. I've been a little intimidated because it looks like it would be pretty difficult to make. Imagine my relief when I saw how super easy it is after checking out this great tutorial by Bonnie! I think my favorite thing about these cards is that you can make an almost a collage type layout using many different stamps.
The girls and I made this card for daddy. The only part that I had trouble with on this card is figuring out the sizes of the pattern paper to allow for the card base to show as well. I used a bunch of different TSG stamp sets. I love how well many of the stamp sets compliment each other. There is nothing better than getting more bang for your buck ;) The stamp sets used here are Happy Day, Special Delivery, Rain & Shine mini set, Act of Kindness, Holidays Galore mini set. You can find all of these sets at the TSG Website.

The leaves of the tree were paper pieced using the same paper I used for parts of the card. I then went over the leaves with a blender pen and used Apricot Appeal ink to give the leaves some dimension. The rest of the images are all colored with a blender pen and inks. I had the girls write their names on the little nestie shapes and I wrote daddy a not on the long white rectangle on the right side. I used a lot of dimensionals with the images but I'm sure you guys have already noticed that I'm a little addicted to them by now ;)

Here is what the card looks like when it is closed. Isn't that too cute? I had to put the card in a clear envie because it just did not want to stay closed by itself. If you guys haven't tried making a card using this fold, I recommend that you try it at least once! It's a great way to use lots of stamp sets on one project ;)
