Stampbook Wednesday!

Welcome to another Stampbook Wednesday everyone! This week's page is inspired by a gorgeous card made by one of the fabulous Trendsetters- Faith! This card is absolutely gorgeous and as soon as I saw it, I knew I had to make a Stampbook Page like it.

What is a Stampbook Page? A Stampbook Page is a scrapbook page created using stamps and inspired by a card. Each week I create a new Stampbook Page to give you ideas on how to use your stamps in a new way and hopefully inspire you to catch up on those family photos that you've been meaning to scrapbook ;)

I was aware when I dove into this project that it was going to be pretty labor intensive. What I didn't count on was that it would take me FOREVER to cut out all of those flowers and leaves! I even had to recruit Matt into doing some cutting for me. He gave up after 5 leaves lol! It was well worth it though because I love the way it turned out.

I used the flowers from Bloom and the sentiment and butterflies are from Nature Of Friendship. All images were colored with Prismacolor Pencils and blended with OMS, cut out and sparkled up with a Stardust Gelly Roll pen. I know, crazy right?? I love these pictures I took of the girls the other day. Kayla has been getting a little better about taking pictures so I try to snap them as much as possible ;) This photo shoot was cut short though because Kylie got some stinging nettles (I think that's what they are called?) by her eye. No worries, a cool ice pack took care of that perfectly :)

Close up of the flowers. It's hard to see the flowers but I'm sure you can tell that I am almost out of dimensionals now lol!!
Have a wonderful day everyone, the weekend is almost here!

Stampbook Wednesday!

Welcome to another fun Stampbook Wednesday! It feels so good to get back in the game and add another page to my family scrapbook album :)

This week's page was inspired by this card that I made a couple of weeks ago-
I also used today's sketch challenge posted at SCS. I just love this picture I took of the girls yesterday and knew that it was the picture I was going to use. You see, Kayla (our youngest) has been in her I-refuse-to-look-at-the-camera-or-smile-but-instead-will-frown-and-turn-my-head-away-from-the-camera phase and this is one of the few recent pictures where she is not only looking at the camera but is smiling and posing!!
The images are from the set Life's A Beach (which is expected to be back in stock in about 2 weeks for you Life's A Beach stalkers!) They are all colored with Prismacolor pencils and blended with OMS. This is my favorite coloring method right now because it is quick, simple and the results are so pretty.
Don't be afraid to use dimensionals in your Stampbook (or scrapbook ;) pages. It gives a lot of depth (well, I guess that is their job huh? lol!)
We spent another 3 hours of our evening yesterday at the river with our neighbors and had a great time. I was so proud of Kylie (our oldest) because she swam across the river and back twice! Of course she was in a life jacket and I was at her side the entire time but I was so proud of her :) Here is the beautiful sunset we came home to-
Just another day in paradise :)

Stampbook Wednesday!

Hi Everyone! We leave for Wyoming today to visit my dad and step mom and to spend the 4th of July with them. But before I could even think of leaving, I had to create some things that I could share with you guys for the days I will be gone :) Don't worry about orders, they will still be going out just as speedy as ever! While there, I will also get to meet up with my gal pal Wendy- wahoo!

I was on the phone with Faith the other day and she was telling me about this card that she had made using a picture of herself. I have been so crazy busy this last week that I have barely had time to check blogs and completely missed it! So I went back and found it and was blown away. How gorgeous is this card??

As soon as I saw it, I knew that it would make an awesome Stampbook page and got started right away.
I stamped flowers from the new set Bloom on Very Vanilla cardstock and colored them with a blender pen and reinkers. I printed off a beautiful picture of Chloe that I just can't get enough of. She looks so grown up here and it makes me smile every time I see it :) I cut around her picture so that there was no background. I then adhered it to a background layer that I created using Word. I typed up a bunch of random things that came to my mind when I thought of her sweet face, changed the font and color and printed it out. I matted that layer with Kraft (SU border punched at the bottom) and then again on Very Vanilla. I cut a piece of vellum so that it would fit over the picture perfectly and added my cut flowers, sentiments (also from Bloom) and pulled the ribbon through the corner that was punched with an SU punch. I tacked down the other side with just a bit of adhesive to make sure it stayed in place and wouldn't slip. I then added all layers to Kraft and then Rose Red, added some spiral clips that spell out Chloe and I'm done! Of course I wish it were as quick as I just explained it because it took me hours to finally get it done lol! Most of that was trying to decide on cardstock colors thought ;)
Here is what the picture look likes under the Vellum.
Happy Hump Day!

Stampbook Wednesday!

Happy Stampbook Wednesday everyone! As a tribute to my 4 hour card, I chose to use it as the inspiration for today's Stampbook page. I was a little smarter this time however, and waited until after the girls went to sleep lol!
All images on this page are from the new set Rejuvenate and are colored with Prismacolor Pencils and blended with OMS. Almost everything on the base layers are popped up on dimensionals. Mostly because I'm addicted to the darn things lol! I have them in different brands, sizes and shapes. I'm a little bummed though because I used up the last of my thin teeny tiny circle dimensionals and I have no idea who makes them or where to find them :(

We are going to be leaving for vacation this afternoon (Don't worry, this won't affect order shipping times!) and I have tons of stuff to do. I need to make a few cards and get blog posts ready for the next couple of days as well as clean the house (I have a weird obsession with having my house spotless before we go on trips.) plus I still need to do laundry and get suitcases packed. We are headed to the beach for a few days and I definitely am in need of a vacation!!!

Stampbooking Wednesday

Happy Stampbook Wednesday!

As soon as I saw this card made by Maki, I knew that I had to turn it into a Stampbook Page! Unfortunately I had the perfect need for it as well.
Over the last few months, my best friend Dani and I have been back in touch with one of our very best friends from years ago, Chance. He had gone through quite a bit of health issues over the years that Dani and I had lost contact with him and sadly, they have started to return. He was hospitalized last week for pneumonia and then moved to the ICU with a collapsed lung. I made these two pages for him (size 8x10 to fit in a standard size picture frame) to put in his hospital room. Dani and I spent most of the day there on Friday and it was nice just to be there for him.

He is out of the hospital now and taking it easy at home but isn't out of the woods yet. I normally don't do this, but if you could take a moment to say a quick prayer for Chance, I would greatly appreciate it!! He has always been like a brother to me and to this day, his mom still refers to Dani and I as "the girls".

I went through one of my old photo albums and came across this picture of me and Chance. Of course it had to be one where he happened to have a huge black eye from rough housing with a friend *insert eye roll*. We were 18 and 17 in this picture. Was it really that long ago???
The stamps used for this page are from the set Nature Of Friendship and the DP is from SU. These colors are so great together! I also added some rhinestones to the flowers above the sentiments as well as randomly on the stamped images.

I made this page using a recent picture of Dani and I together. I loved how these turned out so much that I most likely will be making a duplicate copy for myself.

I used the same supplies for this page but this sentiment is from the set Friendship Flowers.

Stampbooking Wednesday!

All stamp sets are back in stock in the There She Goes Store!

I am so excited to show you today's Stampbook Page! I have been wanting to case this beautiful card made by Christi for such a long time but I refused to do it without the same DP (Bella Rose by SU). These colors are so rich and gorgeous, it's love I tell ya!

I used one of my favorite pictures taken of Kylie this winter. She was having a snowball fight with her daddy and sisters and got one right in the middle of her forehead. The snow left a perfect circle on her hat lol! Don't worry, she wasn't hurt. It would take a whole lot more than a snowball to slow this firecracker down ;)

After we are done playing in the snow, it's tradition to come inside and have some yummy hot cocoa with marshmallows. Every. Single. Time. lol! For this Stampbook page I used Chocolate chip, white and Bella Rose DP. I stamped the cup from Tea For Two on the punched white circle. I then used the steam stamp and stamped it in Sahara Sand ink. The cups were paper pieced with Bella Rose DP and I used SU's scallop circle punch to add behind the white circles. The small picture was cut out using one of the new Nestabilities.

I love to add dimension to my Stampbook Pages just like my cards. Here is a close up:
Well, I'm off to try the sketch challenge! Have a wonderful Wednesday everyone!!

Something new and something sketchy....

I have decided to start a new segment dedicated to scrapbooking. I have taken a loooong break (almost a year!) and I think that it is about time that I get back into it, and in the process I hope that I can inspire you to do a page or two as well :)

Before I became a card maker, I was actually a scrapbooker. ( I believe that scrapbooking is just a gateway drug to other addictions LOL!) When I asked one of my friends if she wanted to get together to scrapbook she told me that she wasn't really a scrapbooker, she like to make cards. I was like.... Cards? Why in the world would you want to make cards?! Shortly after I was introduced to SCS and it all went down hill from there ;)

At first I made only 12x12 pages but after a couple of years, I was getting tired of making such large pages and decided to do 8.5x11 so that I could just put my pages in page protectors and stick them in binders. Not only did this cut down on the cost of having to buy albums but I could also slip a scrapbook page in the front cover of the binder.

I have spent a lot of time thinking about why we spend so much time and creativity to make cards for others but don't spend as much time in making something special for ourselves. So I thought of a way that I could combine the two. I would find a card in my favorites gallery on SCS and find a way to turn that card into a layout. I love how these pages turn out because they are just as beautiful as the card but it has a special picture/s and I get to keep it forever.

Here is the first Wednesday Stampbooking Page. This was cased from a beautiful card made by my friend Angela. I love her stunningly simple style and this card works perfect for the inspiration of a scrapbook page.

My Page

I just love this picture taken of Kylie and Chloe! Kylie is such a leader and just loves to direct plays for her sisters to be in. On this particular night Kylie had Matt, Kayla and I sit on the couch while she turned off the TV and got Chloe dressed up. She then put some toys together to make a throne for Chloe and had her all decked out as a queen. As Chloe sat there, Kylie started making up a completely random song about Chloe the queen. It was the cutest thing ever! After a few minutes, Kylie got shy and gave the microphone to Chloe and then Chloe sang her song at the top of her lungs. She isn't shy at all. She is such a happy child and always is talking and singing in her LOUD voice :) It's the moments like this that I remember why we wanted to have kids so close in age......

*****************************

And last but not least, here is the sketch challenge card that I made. I thought that since I already had paper and a stamp set out I would just use them. I love these colors together and think that this card turned out so cute!

Ok, I think you guys have had more than enough of my rambling for one day so I'll leave it at that. Have a wonderful day!

Scrapbook

This year I am going to make a month in review scrapbook page. Here is the one that I did for February.

Wednesday, February 27, 2008

I've been working on my card for the sketch challenge all morning and it still isn't coming together like I want. So I decided to share with you two scrapbook pages that I completed yesterday. I'm still working on my scrapbooking "style" which isn't all that common. I like to make my pages more card like than traditional scrapbook pages. Does that make any sense lol? One of my favorite things to do is find a card that inspires me in the SCS gallery and kind of case it into a scrapbook page.

The following page was inspired by this card by cincimom

And here is my page

The next scrapbook page was inspired by this beautiful card by my friend Wendy (SCS Gallery & Blog)

And here is my other page

If you would like to see some more scrapbook pages that I have completed, there is a link to my iSCRAP gallery off to the left hand side of my blog.
