It is so crazy to think that my first born is 6 years old already. My, how that time has flown. She went from my tiny 6 lb coliky baby to my beautiful 6 year old with an attitude lol! She is such a wonderful big sister as well as a great helper to mommy and daddy. She is such a daddy's girl through and through. Their bond started at birth when he was the first one to hold and cuddle her while I was recovering from an emergency c-section after a long 20+ hour labor. Her favorite thing to do is hang out with daddy and work in the shop (daddy bought her a real pink leather tool bag with tools for her birthday last year), go bow hunting (yes, daddy bought her a real bow lol!) and help with home repairs (she's a pro at removing caulking from wainscot). Not to mention she is a spitting image of him. They are definitely two peas in a pod :)
Here is the card that I made for her. I knew I wanted to use Pink Passion (I think that's the name?) because it matched her presents that I got for her to open when she woke up. This is a color that I hardly ever use. As a matter of fact, I've probably only used a sheet or two ever! It's just a little too bright for me lol. So I cruised the SCS gallery for some inspiration on how to use this color. I came across this gorgeous card made by skdeleeuw. I love how the black really ties all of the colors together and kind of tones down the "brightness" of the pink.
I used the new Cupcake Mix & Match set for all of the images. I stamped the cake, base, sentiment and flower on my new favorite Nestie. How great is this shape?! It's hard to tell from the picture but the button I used has a pretty opal like style to it. It's from my gramma's craft room lol! I went through it over a year ago to "clean" it for her and came across all kinds of goodies ;) To color the images, I used my blender pen and ink pads and then added some Stardust Gelly Roll pen to parts of the cake and flower.
And here is the inside of the card. I always add layers to the inside of the card because I think that it ties everything together beautifully and it really only takes a few minutes.
