Dollar Find Friday (Angela- Calendar)

I am so happy to be doing Dollar Find Friday again!! I'm ESTATIC to be having my DT members host them because, well, they are all fabulous!

After you are done checking out the DFF, don't forget to check the post below this one. I promise you won't want to miss out! :)

Today's DFF post is by Angela-

To start, here's a picture of the stuff you will need:

Wooden calendar (Dollarama)
Black acrylic paint
Paint brush
Sandpaper
Scissors
Adhesive (I used Mono Multi)
Oval cutters (I used ones by Creative Memories)
Black ink ( I used Stazon)
Small red rhinestones (Mine are Westrim Crafts)
Red ribbon (May Arts)
Whisper White paper, Old Olive paper, Patterned paper (I used a piece from the Basic Grey Perhaps collection)
Branching Out stamp set (There She Goes) Acrylic block
Here's what the calendar looked like before I started.

Step 1: Remove the extra wood piece that makes the shoreline. I used scissors to gently pry it off. I probably could have tried a safer way (and I would recommend that) but what can I say? I like to live on the edge....
Step 2: Sand down the calendar to take off any shine. This will help the paint to adhere better since I'm not priming it.
Step 3: Paint it black. I did two coats and it covered nicely. You can still see the bit where the shore was attached but I cover it with ribbon later. Don't worry about it too much.

Step 4: While you wait for the paint to dry, stamp the tree and trunk/branch image onto Whisper White cardstock.
Step 5: If you are using the Creative Memories oval cutter, use the template to figure out which oval and cutter to use. I used the second largest oval.
Step 6: Cut out the tree using the green blade.

Step 8: Stamp the top of the tree image on patterned paper.

Step 9: Carefully cut out tree top image.

Step 10. Adhere ovals together and paper piece the tree top image.
Step 11: Adhere small red rhinestones using Mono Multi.

Step 12: Adhere ovals to the calendar and tie a ribbon around to cover where the shoreline was attached.
Put the blocks back in, stand it up and you are done!

WOW, isn't that little calendar amazing?! Way to go Angela!
