Happy Monday everyone! I have seen a so many of these beautiful tri shutter cards in the SCS gallery and have been wanting to make one for quite awhile now. I've been a little intimidated because it looks like it would be pretty difficult to make. Imagine my relief when I saw how super easy it is after checking out this great tutorial by Bonnie! I think my favorite thing about these cards is that you can make an almost a collage type layout using many different stamps.
The girls and I made this card for daddy. The only part that I had trouble with on this card is figuring out the sizes of the pattern paper to allow for the card base to show as well. I used a bunch of different TSG stamp sets. I love how well many of the stamp sets compliment each other. There is nothing better than getting more bang for your buck ;) The stamp sets used here are Happy Day, Special Delivery, Rain & Shine mini set, Act of Kindness, Holidays Galore mini set. You can find all of these sets at the TSG Website.
The leaves of the tree were paper pieced using the same paper I used for parts of the card. I then went over the leaves with a blender pen and used Apricot Appeal ink to give the leaves some dimension. The rest of the images are all colored with a blender pen and inks. I had the girls write their names on the little nestie shapes and I wrote daddy a not on the long white rectangle on the right side. I used a lot of dimensionals with the images but I'm sure you guys have already noticed that I'm a little addicted to them by now ;)
