TSG52- Feeling sketchy!

This week our TSG Challenge is brought to us by our Trendsetter of the week and Lord have Mercy is it a fun one! That's right, this week Mercy has come up with a great sketch for us to use.

For my card, I used the brand new stamp set Daily Grind. I am soooo loving this set! There are so many different images in this set that you could create a ton of different cards!!

I stamped the cafe in the background of the front panel and added that cute little topiary to the corner :) The image was colored using a blender pen and SU inks.

Back to the Daily Grind.....

Have you heard the news? All three of the brand new stamp sets are officially for sale on the TSG Website!! It was another fun release and I have to say that I love my TSG friends :) I found a few hours to fit in some stamping the other day and I had so much fun! I used the brand new set Daily Grind. This set has a ton of different images to work with and there are limitless possibilities to the different combinations you could come up with!

TIP: For those of you who aren't big fans of coloring, here is a little tip for you! The larger cafe image that is included in this set is great to use as a background image!! I made a card for you to demonstrate what I mean....

The cafe image is stamped onto Very vanilla cardstock using Pretty In Pink ink. This gives it a nice soft look that keeps it from making the card look cluttered. All three of the smaller images in the corner were stamped separately onto Very Vanilla, colored and cut out before adhering to the card base with dimensionals.

Want a chance to win this card???? Then make sure you check out the Week In Review post on the TSG Blog where you could have the chance to win a card made by a Trendsetter!!! Not only that but you get to pick which card from which Trendsetter :)

The beautiful set that we are showing off today is another that is illustrated by our new artist Chris Dark. You all loved her poppies and sweet peas last month and I know that you are going to enjoy this set just as much!!

For my sneak peek card today, I used my favorite flower from the set. This may look like a rose to you but it is actually called a Persian Buttercup. Have you ever seen this type of flower? They are absolutely beautiful!! I suggest you google it and check 'em out ;)

This card is very simple and yet the black creates such a striking contrast against the blue! The flower was created by stamping the image 4 times on designer paper, cut out into various layers, and shaded using a blender pen with SU ink. The different layers were adhered together using dimensionals.

I wanted the inside to match the front but I wanted it to be a little more subtle so I stamped the flower in the corner with Versamark then pounced my shimmery chalks (in both light and dark teal) on top. I then used a Swiffer cloth and gently wiped off the excess chalk.

What I was left with was a soft and beautiful (and shimmery!) image that has almost a watermark quality to it.

The next stop on the hop is Jessie who is recovering from surgery that she had on Tuesday. Make sure you stop by and send her lots of love so that she will fell better asap!!

Daily Grind Blog Hop Challenge

ETA: I added another TSG Tips & Tricks sheet at the bottom of this post!
Today is day one of the There She Goes blog hop challenges where you have a chance to win the stamp set being previewed today by the Trendsetters! All you have to do is go to each of the participating Trendsetters blogs and comment on their Daily Grind sneak peek post. After you have commented on everyone's blog, hop back over to the TSG Blog where you can enter your name into the Mister Linky located at the bottom of the post.

Instead of making a card for today's Blog Hop Challenge, I chose to do something a little different. Starting with this release, I will be putting together different ideas on ways to use the brand new stamp sets. I'm sure that this idea will refine itself over the next few months so this month is going to be a test run so you guys can let me know what other kind of things you would like to see!

I'm sure we all have our favorite guilty pleasure fast food restaurant that we like to visit from time to time. They have even made it more convenient for us by grouping together our favorite foods and calling them 'combos'. Hmmm..... combo with curly fries.... Sorry. Moving on.

TSG will be offering combos that you will love to enjoy without having to deal with that unpleasant greasy feeling after ;) One of the new TSG Tips & Tricks sections will be called  #__ TSG Combo. The TSG Combos will feature how to combine different TSG Stamp sets in ways you might not have thought possible! The # will represent how many stamp sets are used in the featured combo with a list of the stamp set names on the right hand side.

For the very first TSG Tips & Tricks Combo I am featuring the brand new stamp set Daily Grind (which will be released on Sat. evening!) along with the much loved She's A Lady. This combo is very easy to create and will give you even more versatility in your stamping!

Daily Grind is a 6”X8” stamp set that includes a total of 35 of stamps, and will sell for $24.

The next stop on the hop is my girl Jessie and I know that she's got some great eye candy to share with you!

Tag, you're it!

Happy Monday everyone! I hope you all had a wonderful and relaxing weekend because you are going to need the extra energy for this week. It is TSG Release Week!! We are starting the party off with a fun challenge- create a tag/feature a tag on your card. Head on over to the TSG Blog for all of the details and find out how you can win a TSG gift certificate!

For my card, I used a new set that was released last month, Spring Fever. I am in love with these little squirells. Aren't they adorable?? The cool thing about this card is that the tag can easily be removed and used as book mark :)

For the kraft layer on the card base, I stamped the long sentiment stamp from the set in rows then added the scalloped black strip before creating the pleated ribbon. The squirrels were stamped in black right onto the kraft layer and I stamped the heart on a seperate piece of paper before cutting it out and adhering it between the squirrels with a dimensionals. I also stamped the larger bench towards the top of the layer.

The tag was created by stamping the kraft layer, embossing with an embossing folder, sanding the raised impressions, stamping the sentiment and then stamping the heart in red. The bench was stamped onto cream cardstock, cut out and adhered to the tag using dimensionals. I did the same for the squirrels. I then stapled the ribbon to the top.

TSG49- Pleats!

Hi everyone, did you miss me??? I have had my nose to the grindstone all week long and not have had a chance to stamp at ALL until last night! I was totally itching to stamp so that I could play along in our TSG Challenge that Lisa (this week's featured Trendsetter!) came up with. Have you seen it yet??? It's all about pleats! Pleats are HOT right now and you have probably seen them in quite a few places. They are so pretty and are easy to make too!

For my challenge card, I used the new stamp set Spring Fever. How cute are those squirrels?? They are stamped in Momento Tuxedo Black onto Kraft cardstock. The hearts above were stamped in Sahara Sand and the heart in the middle was stamped onto Ruby Red cardstock with Regal Rose ink before it was cut out and adhered to the card base between the squirrels. I stamped the squirrely sentiment 3 times along the bottom left hand side before adhering the pleated ribbon with red line tape.

The ribbon that I used on this card was recently sent to me from my friend Theresa, isn't that so sweet?? I am definitely learning to love ribbon :) I tried a new way of pleating that I haven't attempted before so please excuse the 'rough' look of it lol! I used a sewing needle with thread and did a simple running stitch on both sides toward the end. Then I gently pulled the thread as I bunched the ribbon to create the pleats and tied the thread together in a knot on the backside.

After adhering to the cardbase, I glued down a couple of rhinestones for some added bling :) Make sure you stop by the TSG blog to find out the details about this challenge and how you can win a TSG gift certificate!

TSG49- Heather's color combo

Hello everyone and happy Tuesday! Sorry I am a day late showing this card to you but I have been very busy and just have not had a chance to stamp until last night. This week our TSG challenge is brought to us by our Trendsetter of the week Heather! She has chosen this beautiful color combo to work with to help us get in the mood for spring :)

I used the two new stamp sets Sweet Pea and the butterflies from Poppies for my card today. The images were stamped onto watercolor paper with VersaMark ink then embossed with black powder. I then watercolored the images using a paint brush with SU inks & markers before cutting out and layering onto my card base.

This layout was totally inspired by the card that Lisa made for the challenge. How cool is that? I have had this SU die for a few months now and this is the first time that I have actually used it! I added some stitching to the side of my die cut layer. All papers are from the SU Welcome Neighbor paper pack.
