What's Up Buttercup?

Today is day two of the There She Goes blog hop challenges where you have a chance to win the stamp set being previewed today by the Trendsetters! All you have to do is go to each of the participating Trendsetters blogs and comment on their What's Up Buttercup? sneak peek post. After you have commented on everyone's blog, hop back over to the TSG Blog where you can enter your name into the Mister Linky located at the bottom of the post.

If you have made your way here from Holly's Blog, you are right on track! If not, you may want to head over to the TSG Blog to get all of the details about the Blog Hop Challenges and what you need to do to have a chance to win free stamps :)

The beautiful set that we are showing off today is another that is illustrated by our new artist Chris Dark. You all loved her poppies and sweet peas last month and I know that you are going to enjoy this set just as much!!

For my sneak peek card today, I used my favorite flower from the set. This may look like a rose to you but it is actually called a Persian Buttercup. Have you ever seen this type of flower? They are absolutely beautiful!! I suggest you google it and check 'em out ;)

This card is very simple and yet the black creates such a striking contrast against the blue! The flower was created by stamping the image 4 times on designer paper, cut out into various layers, and shaded using a blender pen with SU ink. The different layers were adhered together using dimensionals.

I wanted the inside to match the front but I wanted it to be a little more subtle so I stamped the flower in the corner with Versamark then pounced my shimmery chalks (in both light and dark teal) on top. I then used a Swiffer cloth and gently wiped off the excess chalk.

What I was left with was a soft and beautiful (and shimmery!) image that has almost a watermark quality to it.

The next stop on the hop is Jessie who is recovering from surgery that she had on Tuesday. Make sure you stop by and send her lots of love so that she will fell better asap!!
