<3 this color combo!

I made this card as a combo for yesterday's color combo and today's sketch challenge on SCS. The color combo was to use Going Grey (I only had basic grey), Pretty in pink and Sage Shadow. I love how these soft colors go so well together! I decided to do a non traditional Halloween card for this one. I used my favorite images from the new set HSH Halloween additions. How cute is that spider?? And it does have some nice legs ;)

Spooky Sandra has inspired me!

Ok, so Sandra isn't really spooky but she definitely inspired me with this spooky card she made with the new sets Home Sweet home and HSH Halloween Additions!! Her watercoloring is out of this world and I've been inspired to give it a go :) Sandra is a master at using an aqua painter but I can't get the darn thing to work for me the way it is supposed to! So instead I pull out my trusty blender pen (I made sure to refill it with blender solution so the ink would spread well).

I love how this card turned out and I can't wait to practice watercoloring even more :) The rhinestone embellishments are from Michael's found in the $1 bins. The side panels were created using a SU die cut, piercing around the edges then I used a white gel pen around the piercing for a faux stitch look.
Thanks for stopping by today! And don't forget to check out the TSG Blog today because Holly is our featured Trendsetter this week!!

Time for another TSG Challenge!

It's Monday again which means that a new TSG Challenge has been posted! This week the challenge is to make a card or project featuring the Cracked Glass technique in a spooky theme. You can find out more about this challenge here on the TSG Blog.

For my card I used the newly re-released Spooktacular Silhouettes. This silhouette set is perfect for these kinds of techniques :) I Stamped the sentiment on a white piece of cardstock that was cut out using one of my new SU dies. I then did the cracked glass technique, added some ribbon behind and a rhinestone on front. It was popped up on dimensionals on top of the pumpkin panel that was created using the two pumpkins that come in this fun set. I am not entirely sure what brand the DP is because I got it from my friend Kelli :)

Hope you are able to play along and don't forget that every TSG Challenge has some sort of give away!!

HSH Halloween Additions Blog Hop Challenge

It's our final day of blog hops and if you made it here via Jackie's blog you are on the right track! If not, you may want to go back to Dawn's blog where it all began :)

I love the set that we are showing off today because it is so much fun to use! It was designed to go with yesterday's set Home Sweet Home. You may have wondered why I designed the fireplaces without the fires in them, well here's the scoop. When I started designing the fireplace accessories I thought "how fun would it be to be able to decorate these for the holidays??". I immediately came up with a ton of different ideas for Halloween that would be so much fun :) For example, there is a cauldron that you can use in the fireplace, shelves for above it (with different spooky items to place on the shelf!) and of course lots of creepy crawlies.

For today, I made a few CAS cards using some of the many images included in this set. Each one of these cards use DIFFERENT images from the set!

This card uses 5 different images-
This card card uses 3 different images-

This card uses 3 different images. Don't worry, the eyeballs aren't real- they're just made using an ice mold ;) Would you like a chance to win this set??? Make sure you stop by the other Trendsetter's Blogs to see what kind of creations they have cooked up leaving comments along the way! (You can find out all the info about these hops here on the TSG Blog) The next stop on the Hop is Jessie :)

I wanted to show you guys two cards that I made using this set.

The first one I wanted to show how it is possible to make a beautiful CAS card with detailed stamps.
And this card is all about layers and dimension! I did a lot of cutting on this one and it was well worth it. I love how much depth there is to it and how it is literally coming right out at ya ;)

Swirly Butterflies

Looking for the Week In Review?? It is now posted on the TSG Blog every Sunday!

You know it's going to be a great day when you get to start it out with stamping a card that comes together in about 15 min :)

I made this for this week's featured stamper tankgrl. Heather has such a beautiful gallery and this is the card of hers that I chose to case.

Here is what I changed:
Stamp sets
Placement of sentiment
Scalloped edge corners
Changed the ink from Grey to Sahara Sand
Used rhinestones instead of brads
Added paper piercing.

For the background, I used two background stamps- one by SU and Crackled by TSC. I then added the swirls from Flourish in black and then again stamped off once in black. I stamped the butterflies from Butterfly Happiness on scrap paper, cut out and used red line tape to adhere just the bodies. I used a sheer black ribbon and added the sentiment panel underneath. The sentiment is from the new mini set Everyday Greetings.

I hope to see you come back soon! This week is going to be jam packed with tons of stuff! We will be introducing our newest Trendsetters, have sneak peeks of the new sets to be released, challenges and of course will be giving stuff away all week long!!

Happy Friday!

***The Friday Night Chat has been started here on the TSG Forum. You need to be a registered member to view or access the forum so make sure you do that first! It only takes a few minutes and then you are ready to join the fun :)***

And don't forget to check out Faith's super cute Dollar Find Friday projects as well!

Wahoo for Friday! I am soooo looking forward to sleeping in a little bit tomorrow (if I'm lucky I may even be able to sleep in till 8:00 ;) It's been a week of late nights and early mornings and I can definitely feel them catching up with me today. I'm not sure how I pull it off but for some reason I am both a night owl and a morning person lol! I'm trying to work on getting to bed earlier but it just so much easier to get work done in the evenings after the girls in bed ;)

I started this card a few days ago but finished up the inside and added rhinestones this morning. I used stamps from the mini set Thinking of You. I love this sentiment! They were stamped on a white panel that was cut out using Nestabilities which was then popped up on dimensionals. The DP used on the card base is actually a double sided design by Cosmo Cricket (I used my sewing machine to stictch around the edges). The card base is Not Quite Navy. Images were colored with Copic markers then added a rhinestone to each of the middles.

Here is the inside:
I hope that you will join us tonight for the chat! Have a great weekend :)

Thursday already????

I could have sworn that it was Monday yesterday! It is crazy how fast the weeks have just been flying by and it's hard to believe that Christmas is just around the corner. Does anyone have a trick to make the hours in a day last longer?? If you do, please pass it along here ;)

One of the hardest things I have been dealing with lately in card making is how to use color. I naturally gravitate towards soft earthy type color schemes but have been inspired by so many of you talented stampers that can whip up bright, gorgeous cards that I decided at giving it a try. Here is my first attempt at 'bold and bright'. I actually like how this card came together but it definitely needs some kind of embellishments (next on my 'learn how to do' list).

This card was made using 3 of the new mini sets that were just released- Treemendous, Everyday Greetings, and Flourish. I absolutely love how versatile all of the mini sets are and how well they work together! I find myself reaching for them just about every time I sit down to stamp. Guess, I'll just have to design some more huh? ;)
The colors used are Pacific Point, Tangerine Tango, Crushed Curry, Kiwi Kiss and Riding Hood Red. It's sad to say but 3 of those 5 colors have hardly been used! I vow to bring them out more often because I will no longer fear color lol!

And of course I had to make the inside just as colorful as the front!

Thank you so much for stopping by! I hope that you will be inspired to stamp a little color in your life as well :)

It's time for another TSG Challenge!

It's Monday which means it's time for another TSG Challenge! This week the challenge is TSG20 Partially Popped. I know you're probably saying 'what in the heck is that supposed to mean??' The goal is to take an image (I used images from the set Welcome Home for this card) and to 'pop' up different parts of the image using dimensionals! I love the way that this bring cards to life :)

You can see on this card that the door panel, wreath, door handle and plant all have a little dimension to them. (But to me, this is still a one layer card lol!)
Here is a side view so you can see the the dimension from a different angle.

I hope that you will give this challenge a try! Oh, and did I mention that there is a prize involved??? :)

I can do CAS!

Looking for the Week In Review?? It has been moved to the TSG Blog!

Something Angela said in her Wednesday Trends post on the TSG Blog must have really sunk in because I have been whipping out CAS cards like no other lol! Thanks Angela :)

This card was made using Chocolate Chip as a base, some pretty blue Bazzil paper, Very Vanilla and some new DP by Bo Bunny that I picked up the other day. The sentiment on the card is from the new mini set Everyday Greetings and the image stamped behind is from another new mini set Flourish.
Have a wonderful day and enjoy the rest of your weekend!
