TSG14 Hoard no longer!

I'm leaving this post up today for those of you who have not read
about this week's TSG Challenge. Hope you can play along!

We all know that as papercrafters that this so called "hobby" can be as much about collecting as it is about creating. How many times have you come across something that you just had to have just because it was on sale? Or how about the things that you bought because you absolutely loved but then were to scared to actually use? Well my friends, today I challenge you to bring em out! This week's TSG Challenge is to use at least 3 items that you have been hoarding for at least 1 year (less is fine for newer papercrafters) on a card/project.

If you participate in this challenge, please add your name and a link to your project in the Mr. Linky located on my blog to have a chance at winning a $5 gift certificate to the There She Goes store! The winner will be announced on Monday August 3rd on my blog. We would also love to see your work posted on the Forum HERE so we can all check them out! If you upload your card/project to an online craft gallery, please use the keyword TSG14. Have fun using your "saved" goodies and I can't wait to see your projects!!

You have from Friday July 31st through Sunday August 3rd to enter for the $5 gift certificate but please feel free to play at any time!

This card actually works for today's Limited Supply challenge on SCS as well. That means I have done 4 out of 5 challenges this week! Wahoo, go me! :)

I used a bunch of different things that I've been hoarding on this card and I love how it turned out! Here is a list of my "hoarded" items-
1) Chipboard letters
2) Chipboard square with brackets (I added the sentiment from Nature of Friendship)
3) Clear flat bottom gemstone thingies (yes that is what they are called :P )
4) Blue stickles
5) Adhesive rhinestone stripe
Here is the inside-
I hope that you will get a chance to play in this challenge sometime this weekend!

Office Supply Fun

My craft room has finally cooled down enough where I can enjoy stamping in there again :) I made this card for the Ways to use it challenge on SCS (Office Supplies). As soon as I read the challenge, this card made by Mercy immediately popped into my mind. Thanks for the inspiration Mercy!

Luckily Kylie was still sleeping when I started this card because I had to tear a page from her brand new school notebook ;) I trimmed the paper to the size I wanted and then used my corner rounder just on the top right side. I stamped the flower image from the set Bloom (which is expected to be back in stock in about two weeks!) and colored with Prismacolor pencils and blended with OMS.
The ribbon is bunched up and then stapled to keep it in place. I wrapped the edges of the ribbon around the pink layer (which was embossed with an embossing folder) before I adhered the rest of the layers. I used one of my heart sticky notes but because the adhesive on it ran directly down the middle, I adhered it to Pink Pirouette cardstock and cut out and stamped the sentiment. I put just a bit of tape across the top part of the heart so that it can be lifted up to see the second sentiment stamped directly under it-

For the inside of the card, I followed the same theme as the front of the card-
See you all tomorrow for the Friday TSG Challenge! You might want to check it out to see how you can save some money ;)

Stampbook Wednesday!

Welcome to another fun Stampbook Wednesday! It feels so good to get back in the game and add another page to my family scrapbook album :)

What is a Stampbook Page? A Stampbook Page is a scrapbook page created using stamps and inspired by a card. Each week I create a new Stampbook Page to give you ideas on how to use your stamps in a new way and hopefully inspire you to catch up on those family photos that you've been meaning to scrapbook ;)

This week's page was inspired by this card that I made a couple of weeks ago-
I also used today's sketch challenge posted at SCS. I just love this picture I took of the girls yesterday and knew that it was the picture I was going to use. You see, Kayla (our youngest) has been in her I-refuse-to-look-at-the-camera-or-smile-but-instead-will-frown-and-turn-my-head-away-from-the-camera phase and this is one of the few recent pictures where she is not only looking at the camera but is smiling and posing!!
The images are from the set Life's A Beach (which is expected to be back in stock in about 2 weeks for you Life's A Beach stalkers!) They are all colored with Prismacolor pencils and blended with OMS. This is my favorite coloring method right now because it is quick, simple and the results are so pretty.
Don't be afraid to use dimensionals in your Stampbook (or scrapbook ;) pages. It gives a lot of depth (well, I guess that is their job huh? lol!)
We spent another 3 hours of our evening yesterday at the river with our neighbors and had a great time. I was so proud of Kylie (our oldest) because she swam across the river and back twice! Of course she was in a life jacket and I was at her side the entire time but I was so proud of her :) Here is the beautiful sunset we came home to-
Just another day in paradise :)

I'm melting!

One of my favorite things about living in Washington is that we are able to enjoy all four of the seasons and they are relatively mild for the most part. It's perfect for me because I don't do hot and I don't do cold :) So you can imagine how I must have felt when I saw this on my rear view mirror thermometer....
You have got to be kidding me! I live in WA not Arizona and I'm pretty sure I didn't get the memo that it was possible to get this hot here lol! It was so warm that Matt and I decided to take the girls for an evening swim at the river. At seven last night it was still in the mid 90's! It felt great to swim in the cool water and lower our body temps. just a little bit.

I was able to do a little stamping this morning before my craft room turned into a sauna ;) I made this card for today's color challenge which was to use Pixie pink, Apricot appeal and Certainly celery.
I used the just released set Spread Your Wings. The butterflies are colored with Prismacolor pencils, blended with OMS and sparkled up from a Stardust Gelly Roll pen. The card still needs a little something but I wasn't sure what so I just stopped before I over did it. I love all the white with the Apricot appeal, it gives such a light and airy feeling :)
Have a great day everyone! It is only supposed to get hotter over the next couple of days so wish me luck that I make it through ok ;)
