We're home!

We had a wonderful mini vacation at the beach but it is good to be home :) Yesterday we didn't really have anything planned while we waited for my gramma to meet us at the hotel (well it was more like a full two bed/two bath apartment since it was a time share) so we decided to head back down to the beach for a little while. It was pretty cool (60 some odd degrees), cloudy and it was starting to mist. Do you think that would keep me out of the water??? No way! I bundled up the girls in jeans and a sweatshirt, brought their sand toys and kites to keep them (and daddy lol!) occupied so that I could swim for longer than the day before. It was great fun and the water was only cold for the first 15 seconds or so. Then my skin went numb and couldn't feel anything any more lol! I had to finally get out because I was a little worried that I couldn't really open and close my hands anymore and plus the current was getting pretty strong ;) All in all, it was a perfect vacation!

I have to say that the vacation did wonders for my mojo as well! I was able to create two cards after we got home and get this- I like them both! I made them for today's inspiration challenge on SCS. I'm sharing one of the cards today and am saving the other one for another post :)

I chose this room from the site Design Dazzle. So many cute things on that site! I used a combo of three different TSG Stamp Sets- Act Of Kindness, Nature Of Friendship and Happy Day. I started by masking the leaves off the branch/tree image in chocolate chip and stamped it on the very vanilla layer. I then reversed the masking and used an old olive marker and stamped the leaves. I stamped the bird on a separate piece of paper, colored with ink and a blender pen, cut out and added to the branch. I also added some flowers in riding hood red. I love how those colors look together! I masked the sentiment like the branch to get the different colors and added a flower. The blue panel was made by using an SU border punch and embossed with a Cuttlebug folder. I added it to the vanilla layer and then added the stitching and pearls.
